Flood advice issued for West Hawai’i

Flood warnings for West Hawaii are valid until 17:15

According to the National Meteorological Service, at 2:09 p.m. The heaviest showers were observed at Holualo.
Some places that experience flooding include Kailua-Kona, Captain Cook, Waikōloa Village, Pu’uanahulu, Kalaoa, Puako, Honalo, Kahaluu-Keauhou, Kainaliu, Kawaihae, Kealakekua, Kohala Ranch, Kamuela, Hōnaunau, Waikoloa Beach and Mauna Lani Beach, Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport.

Impacts include minor flooding on the roads, poor drainage areas and streams. Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding.

If floods persist, it may be necessary to extend this warning.
